Canada’s Parliament Passes USMCA

On Friday, March 13, 2020, Canada’s Parliament ratified the revised U.S-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) trade agreement.

They were the third and final country that needed to do so in order to replace the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) that has been in place since 1994.   

According to the Agreed Protocol replacing the NAFTA  with the USMCA, it is expected to enter into force on the first day of the third month following the last notification. Formal details are expected shortly.
