The Million Mile Club: Honoring our Safest Drivers

DSV in Portland, Oregon recently inducted three new members into our Million Mile Safe Driving Club. The club honors our drivers who have traveled for one million miles without a preventable accident. The 24th annual Million Mile Safe Driving Club Banquet was held on Jantzen Beach, overlooking the Columbia River. The banquet also honored two drivers who have accumulated 2 million and 3 million miles with DSV.

How do drivers become members?

On their anniversary date, drivers without a preventable accident are awarded one-year safe driving. These safe year miles are accumulated, and once a driver reaches a million miles, they are invited to the club. Typically, this achievement takes between 7 and 10 years to accomplish.

Drivers of the Year

The banquet also featured the second DSV Road Transport Driver of the Year Awards. James Bridges was named Local Driver of the Year, and Karl Merhoff was named Linehaul Driver of the Year. The drivers are chosen by DSV management’s selection process, which includes aspects of safety performance, customer service, and productivity.

Congrats to all our award winners! Keep trucking along safely.
