India’s Designation as Beneficiary Developing Country Removed from GSP

On May 31st, 2019, a Proclamation was issued by the White House that removes India from the list of Beneficiary Developing Countries.

Effective June 5th, 2019, products from India will fall under the General Column Rate of Duty. Further, this will subject imports of certain crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells and large residential washers manufactured in India to the Section 203 additional duty issued in proclamation 9693 on January 23, 2018.
