The below zero air temperatures along with wind chills of 30 below zero means that class 1 railroads will shorten train lengths and reduce speeds in order to cope with the cold. 

Chicago houses one of the nation’s largest intermodal hubs, so the disruptions could be widespread across the US. Alongside railroad, drayage support could also decline due to weakened driver availability.
