Chinese New Year is Approaching; Book Early to Avoid Delays

If you receive shipments from China, you may already be aware of the logistical challenges during Chinese New Year.

Chinese New Year is Approaching; Book Early to Avoid Delays

The Chinese New Year is one of the most important traditional holidays in Chinese culture. Also known as Spring Festival, Chinese New Year spans 15 days. For 2019, or Chinese Year 4717, the celebrations will be held from February 5th to February 19th.

In China, offices and factories officially close during week 6. Hong Kong will only close businesses for the first three days. These closings could affect your supply chain, making it important to plan ahead to avoid delays. Experience tells us that there will be limited space available for goods to be exported from China in the days following the end of the holiday, so you should plan to ship them before February 5th or make adjustments that allow a few extra weeks for delivery.
