Tariffs Updates: New exemptions with an expiration date.

The Trump administration has announced that the European Union and Australia, Argentina, Brazil and South Korea will be exempted from the recently announced steel and aluminum tariffs.

Those countries will join Canada and Mexico who were previously exempted. In addition, these exemptions are set to expire on May 1, 2018 by which time the President will decide whether to continue to exempt these countries or not.

Each country who is seeking a permanent exemption should negotiate separate arrangements with the U.S.
