Tariff Updates: No Further Extensions for EU, Canada, and Mexico on 232 Steel and Aluminum Tariff Exemptions.

President Trump announced this morning that the steel and aluminum exemptions for EU, Canada, and Mexico will end at midnight on May 31, 2018.

Starting June 1, 2018, imports of Section 232 tariff steel will be subject to the 25% additional tariff from any country except for Argentina, Australia, and Brazil. Imports of Section 232 tariff aluminum will be subject to the 10% duty except for Argentina and Australia. Brazil has an exemption on steel.

Steel articles subject to the Section 232 tariffs from Argentina, Brazil, and South Korea will be quota. Aluminum articles subject to the Section 232 tariffs from Argentina will also be quota.
