DSV Solutions - Master of Project Management.

A brand new Chemours Distribution Center had an official ribbon cutting on March 6, 2018 in DeLisle, Mississippi and DSV Solutions is a part of its success.

A 300,000 Sq.Ft. facility will be used to store and distribute titanium dioxide. It’s more than five times the size of an NFL football field!

The DSV Solutions’ team was directly involved in this huge and complex project.  Chemours asked DSV Solutions to operate their two on-site and one off-site warehouses before they moved into a new distribution center.

After the new facility was built, the DSV team managed the up-fitting of the new distribution center and subsequent inventory relocation from three warehouses into the new facility.

The DSV Solutions’ team defined goals and success criteria, created a project management plan and broke it into smaller tasks to make sure that all stages of the project were on time and successfully completed.  The project implementation plan included evaluation of the facility layout (setup and design), and IT system implementation, including installation of the WM10 Warehouse Management System.

Over 180 project tasks and action items were successfully completed in less than two months due to the knowledge, professionalism and business understanding of the DSV teams.  Normally this kind of project would take up to 6 months. This project required DSV employees being on-site for weeks at a time including weekends.

This project helped the DSV team to solidify a good, long-term relationship with the client.  As stated by Kurt Smeltzer, DSV Director of Operations – South Region, “We proved our value to Chemours as a Global logistics provider that can act local by intimately knowing and responding to our client’s needs”.

Strong teamwork and good communication between team members helps build a powerful group that can tackle very complicated problems and achieve success. The DSV team is an example of this!

Congratulations to the awesome DSV Project & Operations Teams for a successful completion of the project!
